Kent Whitmer

Kent Whitmer brings more than three decades of aviation experience to his role as Director of Engineering – DER at Able Aerospace. Kent oversees all aspects of Engineering and Product Development, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving forward-thinking solutions across the organization.

Since joining Able 17 years ago, Kent has held several leadership roles, including Engineering Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Product Development, and Director of Engineering. His experience and leadership have helped to shape Able’s engineering and product development strategy.

Kent holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Engineering Management from Brigham Young University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Governors University. He is an FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER), a designation that reflects his expertise and commitment to safety and quality in aviation. Outside of work, Kent dedicates his time to prison ministry, offering support and addiction recovery guidance to imprisoned individuals—a role he has served in for five years.
