That’s why Able Aerospace has made dedicated investments to bring every major plating process in‑house – placing us on a short list of MROs with this level of capability. By keeping the entire process under one roof, we maintain tighter control over quality, reduce turnaround times, and deliver consistently stronger protection for every component.

Inside our 250,000‑sq.-ft. facility, we offer chrome, nickel, cadmium (CAD), silver, passivation, chem‑film, and precise brush‑plating repair. Each coating serves a purpose:

  • Chrome: Restores hardness and wear resistance
  • Nickel: Facilitates controlled dimensional restoration
  • Cadmium (CAD): Provides sacrificial corrosion protection
  • Silver: Enhances electrical conductivity and lubricity
  • Passivation: Reinforces stainless steel’s protective oxide layer
  • Chem‑film: Protects aluminum, magnesium, and prepares surfaces for paint
  • Selective Brush Plating: Repairs localized corrosion without full reprocessing

By keeping plating in‑house, we reduce hand offs, maintain direct process oversight, and eliminate outsourcing delays – resulting in more consistent quality and reliable outcomes.
